Does your bathroom feel boring? Have you gone to all the work and expense of updating the fixtures but it’s still lacking style? Don’t worry – I’ve got some really easy (and inexpensive to boot!) ways to add that style you’re craving! In case you haven’t noticed, I’ve got bathrooms on the brain… 😉 After helping my parents renovate their two bathrooms this last weekend and spending hours dreaming up the design for my own master bathroom makeover (soon to come), I thought I’d share with you a few of my favorite ways to decorate a bathroom. I hope you can try a few! 🙂

I’m a big fan of the floating, open shelves, but other fun ideas are crates mounted to the wall or a ladder shelf!

CORRAL THINGS IN BASKETS
Things like toilet paper and towels can look really nice tucked away in baskets. They are also good for storing beauty products or hair styling accessories out of sight.
HANG A PRETTY SHOWER CURTAIN
No need for a shower curtain? No problem! Hang one in front of an unsightly, old, stand-up shower or even in a window!
ADD FLOWERS OR GREENERY
It’s amazing how much style comes with adding a bit of greenery. And don’t think you have to have a green thumb to decorating using plants – faux flowers and greenery are just as nice!
STORE COTTON PRODUCTS IN CLEAR GLASS JARS
This uses your necessary bathroom products to create beautiful decor!
GROUP ITEMS ON THE COUNTER IN A TRAY
I’ve found that we tend to leave things we use on a regular basis sitting out on the counter – for me it’s my clock and my ceramic jar with bobby pins and q-tips in it. Grouping items like these in a tray makes them seem like decor!
This could be a cute sign with a saying, a beautiful photograph, or a fun gallery of prints!
Try stacking a few nicely folded towels or hanging one on a hook.
ADD A FUN RUG
In case you’re like me and you like lists, here’s a recap in list form: 😉
- Install Shelving
- Corral Things in Baskets
- Hang a Pretty Shower Curtain
- Add Flowers or Greenery
- Store Cotton Products in Clear Glass Jars
- Hang Artwork
- Display Towels
- Add a Fun Rug
You can see how I used these tips in my farmhouse bathroom makeover here and I’m also really excited to incorporate these into the decorating of my mom’s new bathrooms this week! That reveal should be ready to publish by this weekend, so stay tuned!!
It must be the season for bathroom updates because I was asked this week by a coworker to help her design and makeover her main bathroom too. So we’re starting that process! Don’t worry… I’ll be sure to blog about it. 😉
As always, let me know if you have any questions!
